We have seen mobile culture. It is a modern technique. But telephone is also not so ancient or old culture. It has also its own criteria. It has its own limitations also to expose before somebody. MObile always remains in pocket of the person and the person has some previlege to avoid the phone while in telephone i.e. landline telephone which ill be called telephone only has no such discretion always except the phone4 contains collar id facilities. Ring starts and you have to take phgone and you can know by asking who is calling. More to more you can say about availability of the person either from the person directly or thrpough the receiver of the phone. You have no justification whether t6he information given is absolutely correct. In some well established offices the phone has connection to other side called parrallel connection or extension services, where t5he receiver will give the line to the required person. It isa a polished practice to inform the receiver regarding your required person with the purpose for which you are calling him. Youn have to expose the situation before receiver first and and at thr discretion of the receiver the phone goes to the person concern. It may happen where receiver says directly that the person is not available. I had marked when my headclerk having direct line of my phone was telli9ng the calling person directly that saheb is not available or he is busy with some meeting or so so so .. any other excuse but5 he will not transmit the phone to me. In some cases it nis under my direction and remaining under his own discretion This is sofisticated way to discard somebodyAnother way to discard is to reply I will call you latter on and then never to call again. Some more way for sofisticated denial is to speak hallo, hallo hallo oh my god I cant hear anything something is wrong with phone it seems not in working order " and then to put the receiver and to keep the receiver off.."latter4 on and calling pereson will get engagaed tone ......
This is sufficient to follow the criteria of phone
